Soli Deo Gloria Concert Series

“Soli Deo Gloria” (“Glory to God Alone”) is one of the five solæ of the Protestant Reformation. It essentially means that everything we do is to glorify God, not ourselves. In writing “S.D.G.” on many of his manuscripts, sacred and secular alike, Johann Sebastian Bach gave testimony to his faith and dedicated his musical creations to God. Through our SDG presentations, we strive to do the same.
Begun in 2018 and funded by the Joy Smith Endowment, these biannual concerts enable FPC to share our Reuter pipe organ and Kawai grand piano with the congregation and community at large in a non-worship context, free of charge.
Typically there are two concerts per year, one organ and one piano, featuring local/regional musicians, including students and faculty from the Greenwood School of Music at Oklahoma State University.
