Volunteer Opportunities

First Presbyterian Community Saturday Brunch

Every Saturday of the year, we here at FPC provide a free, hot meal to anyone who comes through the doors of our Fellowship Hall. Cooking, serving, and cleaning is handled by teams of volunteers under the guidance of a brunch leader for each Saturday of the month. Food for these meals is purchased from the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and local grocery stores and the menu changes depending on what is available. While each Saturday and brunch leader has some regular volunteers, we also welcome new volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for our Community Saturday Brunch or if you are in need of community service hours, please contact us in the Church Office at (405) 372-5580.

Payne County Pride Festival

FPC has taken part in the Payne County Pride Festival for the last several years and we look forward to taking part again in April of this year. As a welcoming and affirming church we strive to provide a safe space for faith development, worship, and fellowship for all of God’s children including our LGBTQIA+ siblings.

OUR DAILY BREAD

FPC’s Board of Deacons organizes quarterly volunteer workdays at Our Daily Bread and our youth often schedule several volunteer days each year as well. ODB volunteers help with sorting food in the warehouse, stocking the freezers, fridges, and shelves in the store, helping with welcome and intake of guests, and serving as shopping assistants. ODB welcomes volunteers of all ages (children should be accompanied by an adult) and they have jobs for just about anyone.

For more information or to sign up as a volunteer, please visit the ODB website (linked to the right).
